located conveniently in lincoln square mall, common ground food co-op is an excellent place to pour your hard-earned money back into the community. the store is actually owned by the folks who shop there! you can become a member for under $100, and can spread out the payments into installments if your household would benefit from that. being an owner comes with all sorts of perks, like discounts and appreciation days! they have a wide selection of ready-made plant-based food. all items here in the store are hand-selected and great quality. the food is consistently delicious, and you can tell how much effort is put into our local co-op 💖

Food options use to be really nice a few years back. Not sure what happened. Produce is usually bad also. There're still a few things I go in there to buy though.

I really like the products the co-op offers. The pricing is understandable given that many items are specialty products you wouldn’t find in a typical supermarket, and I’ve been a frequent customer for that reason. However, the customer service, particularly at checkout, has consistently been disappointing. The cashiers often come across as rude, as if they’re doing customers a favor by ringing them up. Today’s experience was especially frustrating. My card declined, which has happened before since it’s a non-U.S. card. My sister was inside the store, so I told the cashier I would use her card and pointed to where she was. To avoid holding up the line, I picked up my items and walked toward her. At that point, the cashier repeatedly asked, in an accusatory tone, “What are you doing again?” even though it was clear I was still in the store and intending to complete the purchase. I also explained multiple times what I was doing. The interaction felt unnecessary and disrespectful. I expect better communication and basic courtesy, especially as a returning customer.

Review written 02/07/2025. (I am one of the owners of this co-op along with likely thousands of others). Very unique and interesting place. Removing one star because the prices are unaffordable for most people. But it’s a very welcoming environment with great food products. They also have cooking classes and other cool events.

This is my first time visiting this store and I'm highly impressed. Store is clean, and it has a very calm feeling inside the store and smells amazing. Lots of items to buy, stuff I have never heard of before and stuff I have seen online but never in the store till now. Lots of room for parking. Definitely will be coming back soon.
